Well, today I went off the "wagon". Still managed to stay in range of my calories and fats, but they came from non healthy choices. Had real mayo w/ tuna, chicken nuggets, and a lemon bar. Good thing I don't have any chocolate in the house! Calories were under 1000 (thats good), fats were 4gr high (not good) and sodium was way up there. Feeling stressed today as I am trying to find a job. Boredom has set in and I am trying to keep busy instead of snacking. Worked on some craf

Been a good week, motivation is still strong. Still not excercising like I should. Hopefully my new treadmill will help get me going. Only weighed myself once this week, so this morning was a nice surprise to start the week. Down 3lbs..I am excited!

I know it didn't show up overnight so it won't come off fast. Being older and a slower metabolism I don't expect to lose as fast as when I was younger. Keeping my goals at an achievable level helps me to keep motivated. B

Mid Week Update

Well still havent motivated enough to excercise...Had a medical challange to overcome this week, and made it thru without totally blowing the diet. Did cheat a bit, but still managed to stay within my low-fat boundries. It took all the willpower in me to overcome the urge to "stress eat". That is my biggest downfall. Today was a good day, and optimistic that the rest of the week will be too. I have to remember that I didn't gain all this weight overnight so therefore it wont

Tonight ends the first week of a new lifestyle. All things considered, it went well. Stuck to my plan, watched my intake of fats-cals-and so on. Didn't have much urge for snacking on junk except for today when going for ice cream for dessert was suggested..how dare they!  Week 2 brings me a new challage of excersise..oh how I hate it...but I am determined to do something, even if its a walk around the neighborhood. But will have to go early since its been quite hot during the day.

In trying to keep up with my low fat/low cholesterol/low cal diet, I have managed to up my sodium intake. What the heck!! I don't eat frozen prepared foods, keep away from canned foods unless "salt free". Don't use salt when cooking or to season unless its the reduced sodium..which is rare.  My protein is low, calcium is really low and so is my protein. I am confused!  Need to cut fats/cholesterol and by doing so lowered my intake of calcium and proteins. Not a

Day 1 of my journey to a better me started with a trip to the doctors. Cholesterol was thru the roof, and the scale told me to get off!!  So, here I am again on another journey to attempt at getting healthy.  I am older and set in my ways, that's what got me in this mess in the first place. Now I have to make better choices and make dramatic life style changes. Today begins not only a journey, but its "ALL ABOUT ME" time :)
