Back here again

So much has occurred and I have been proud of myself for the most part.  I still go to the gym, but I have been back running for 7 months now.  Did 5 mile mud race in Jan and a 4 miler in Feb.  Good shoes and some strength training have helped.  Need to get in the gym more often though.  My eating habits have improved since the holidays.

 

With stress of job, I hope I can continue to cross train.  Hopefully with better spring schedul

Workouts becoming a rhythmn

I have really surprised myself getting into a good routine at the gym.  Got a good base where I wasn't hurting anymore, and now I am improving my strength.  Biking to and from the gym a couple of days per week and getting on the eliptical on other days.

I feel improvements, but the scale isn't showing much.  I know not to get discouraged because I have a long way to go.  It will come.

All the right reasons

Joined a gym yesterday.  I know I need to supplement my cardio with other activities, but am having a hard time paying for something that I know I could creatively do on my own.  But down deep this is the easy way (and financial) motivator of getting out and actually doing some resistance training.  Hopefully I can now establish a rhythmn and routine.

A co-worker really helped in the exercise motivation this last week.  She has lost 28 pounds since the start

Portion control????

Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water.....  Bought a candy bar for a fundraiser today and could have been the end of line for me.  My biggest problem has always been portion control.  If it's there and if it's good, I will eat it.  The only way to stop the problem is to eat all of it and then I don't have to worry about it later.  I am not one of those people who can savor just a little bit and then save it for another day.  I

No more excuses

I am hoping this time around I can get rid of the excuses in my life.  Several years ago I lost about 50 lbs (not including the 230 lb ex-husband) and I was on top of the world!  I was wearing clothing sizes that I had not worn since high school.  I was really where I had always wanted to be.  At that time my weight loss was mainly attributed to running.

As things have gotten bigger and better, so has my waistline.  I am happier than I have been in
