Calories Burned:  476 calories per hour   (based on a body weight of 150 lbs.)

For a beginner's cardio workout, start with 15 mins on the elliptal machine.

Go at the pace that feels most comfortable to you.

For the first 5 minutes begin by pushing your feet in a forward motion to get the machine moving.

For the next 5 minutes alternate. Pause for a moment on the machine, because stopping too suddenly can cause injury. Slowly stop your movement. Then for the next five minutes continue doing the routine in the opposite direction.

Continue doing your exercise on the machine alternating directions (forward and back) every five minutes.

Be sure to stretch afterward as well!
