Finger Split
Here’s another good stretch before your fingers start levering off pockets or twisting in finger cracks.
1. Either sitting or standing, bend one arm at the elbow to position your hand thumb-up at chest level. Keep your hand in a straight, neutral position, and fan the fingers wide open.
2. Bunch up the fingers of the other hand and place them between two of your fanned-out fingers. Gradually expand the bunched-up fingers to force the two fanned-out fingers farther apart. Stop when you feel mild tension.
3. Hold this stretch for ten seconds. Release for a few seconds, then repeat for another ten to twenty seconds.
4. Repeat this stretch with each pair of fingers.
Stretch between each pair of fingers.
Safety notes: Stop immediately if you experience any pain. Also, do not use this stretch on any finger with a recent ligament or joint injury.
