Step Ups: Traverse Power

Calories Burned:  340 calories per hour   (based on a body weight of 150 lbs.)
Primary Muscles Trained:  Thighs
Secondary Muscles Trained:  Gluteus Maximus
1. Stand straight with your feet shoulder-width apart.
2. Stand behind a platform, such as an aerobic step, turning your body at a 45 degree angle.
3. Step up onto the platform with one foot, pushing up to raise your alternate foot.
4. As you push up with the original foot turn your body 90 degrees in the opposite direction.
5. As your opposite foot comes up to the platform the original foot should land softly on the floor behind the platform.
6. Continue this motion of alternating your feet while rotating your body with relative speed.
