I'm with you!
I should be able to do the 10lbs per month. I've already lost 12lbs so far since the beginning of January. I know that I can continue to do it as long as I stay focused and watch my calorie intake. So if you're still going for 10lbs a month, I'm with you all the way.

It's a Deal!

I think that's great, I'm with you all. I want to be down 40lbs by May so I can comfortably try on wedding dresses! It would be much easier if we are all in this together to keep us countable and motivated...I'm excited now. Let's all get back in it, 10 lbs per month we can so do this!

Almost done
I have not posted in a while. The holidays were not a big problem for me. I kept my 3 lb average a week going. The last time I posted was November 27th I was down to 207 lbs and had lost 190 lbs. Well, today is Jan 26th, I am down to 178 lbs and have lost a total of 219 lbs. After consulting with dietitians and doctors it looks like my target weight is going to be 175 or a little more since I have gained so much muscle mass. So, I have 3 lbs to go. I should be there next week. If I can do this, you can too.

That's Amazing

Hi Carl,

that is amazing. How exactly are you doing that? You are right, we can do it too but the question has always been How? It's hard to fit the proper diet and regular fitness into a lifestyle that has been so unhealthy for such a long time.

Please share your secrets :) and congrats you're almost there!

Congratulations Carl!
Carl, you should be very proud of yourself! Great job! Will you treat yourself in any way when you reach your goal, or perhaps throw a party? I am also interested in your secrets. One time you told me that plateaus in weight loss were normal, and I was wondering how long they usually last. I know everybody's different but I was wondering if a 3 month plateau is just an all out stop.
Sheena and lbarrow, I'm glad we're in this together, I haven't splurged in days and I've been working out hard. I can't wait until we're celebrating with Carl because we've hit our goals too!
Everybody keep up the good work!

Very Out of Shape
I just did an exercise video and wow....I feel better but I also feel bad too cause I used to be able to do that whole video without struggling...not this time...but I guess that's how I'll be able to judge my progress later on. Makes me feel guilty that I let my body get so weak. Maybe I won't join the gym so that I won't embarass myself.

What I have learned
Hey Rachel,

Plateaus are normal. My plateaus lasted from 1 to 3 weeks which are actually short compared to the average plateau that last a month or longer. A plateau is caused when the body has adjusted to your daily routine of diet and/or exercise. The best way to break it is to change what you are doing. The change does not need to be drastic. Try varying your daily calorie intake, and try new exercises and add some resistance training.

Hey Sheena,

I have learned to be patient this did not happen overnight. I knew that I would not reach my goal in a day, week, or even a month. My goals were going to take a long time to accomplish. I needed to pace my self. In my diet, I learned to make changes slowly. I started with my favorite food french fries. I stopped eating them. Once I was over the craving for them, I moved on to potato chip. Next was fried foods. Eventually, I changed my diet over several months. Now, I have become somewhat of a health nut, and I have lost the craving for the "bad foods".

Congratualations Carl!!
Wow!! What can I say? i'm gobsmacked!! LOL. What an incredible achievement!! Did you take any pics of your progress Carl? they would be incredibly motivational. I'm going to take some because I can never really see the weightloss when i'm losing but when I look at pics I think wow I can see the difference there. Thats a great idea to retrain your tastebuds by cutting things out one by one think i'll try that. Ok, buddies lets start off February determined to do this!!

Doing all right!
I'm glad everyone's in. Thanks a lot Carl for the inspiration and explanations!
I did pretty well this week. I made up a good recipe for dinner tonight and I wanted to share it with yall. Look up "Stuffed Baby Bella Mushrooms." I have several recipes I've put up on this site, but I think this one's the best. Low calorie, filling, nobody that ate them noticed they were healthy. Do yall use the recipe maker or recipes on this site? Do you ever track meals?

First good day under my belt lol.
Hi Everyone,
Well decided enough is enough lol. Think we all have to get to that point at some time don't we. This is my first day on plan i'm a little tired and don't want to exercise but I KNOW I should do something

Rachel, I don't use either of them. I find it all too time consuming so just post here for motivation and to let you know how i'm doing wish I did have the time but I don't.

Hope everyone else is fine ~ Cathy.
