28 days to a New Routine Challenge
New to FitClick and wanting to really get into a routine of drinking water and doing some sort of exercise / workout each day. They say it takes 4 weeks to start a new habit, so here's the challenge.

Think of one or two things you want to make a new habit and lets work together on them for the next 28 days.

My Goals:
-Drink 3 glasses / bottles of water each day
-Exercise each day (at least 10 minutes total)
...this could be Wii Just Dance Sweat Points, Stretches, Dancing, Abs, weights, areobics, etc
-calm the sweet tooth with fresh fruit

We can post at the end of each week [or each day if you want] your results.

Happy Habit Changing...

drink 1 oz of water for every 2 lbs of bodyweight
The average suggested minimum for water intake is 8 glasses per day (which is a lot more than the 3 glasses that you set as your goal). Someone else posted that we should aim to drink 1 ounce of water for every 2 pounds we weigh. (By the time I thought to inquire, I couldn't find their post again.) Anywho, this would amount to a 128 lb person drinking 8 cups of water per day, which sounds about right (unless they are in a hot environment, in which case they might need up to twice their usual amount of hydration). However, according to that theory, a 200 pound person would need to drink 100 ounces (or almost 13 cups). I know that drinking too much water at once can actually kill a person, but it does seem to make sense that a larger person would need more water at intervals throughout the day, especially when losing weight.

Small steps in the right direction
If you're drinking the 16.9oz. bottles of water, then you'll be getting at least 6 glasses a day....not too bad.If you're just starting out,I think you have a great plan.....small steps can lead to bigger steps.Once you get in the habit of exercising....even if it's just ten minutes....you'll eventually feel like and want to increase your time.

I love a challenge!
Ok I think this is a great idea...

Goal One -- Drink at least 64 oz water a day
Goal Two -- Stop snacking while watching TV because I'm bored!
Goal Three -- Play outside with my daughter at least 30 minutes a day...and that means rain or shine...fresh air will do us both good!

Here goes nothing!

Thanks and good luck to everyone else!

Water
I fill my 24 oz water bottle at least 3 times a day. That gets me a minimum of 9 cups of water per day. Plus I drink lots of home brewed unsweetened green tea.

These 2 habits are a huge part of my success.
