30 days of diet and exercise and not 1 pound lost!!!
I have faithfully been on my 1500 calorie diet and have exercised every day burning approximately 450 calories. At the endo of the month I had lost 0 pounds. Every tijme I exercise, my blood sugar goes up instead of down!! What am I doing wrong???? I am gettting frustrated. I have read that some times exercise causes a rise in cortisol out put! What can I do to combat the vicious cycle???? HELP!

More details please
With the information you supplied, it's hard to give you advice. 1500 calories is low for most people, but the types of calories you are taking in is more important than the number of calories. Also burning 450 calories a day sounds like a lot - but calorie calculators generally give you the number you would burn if you were doing a new exercise - the more you do the same exercise, the less calories you burn - and that's especially true for cardio activity like walking, running, biking...any steady-state cardio. I saw that you put on your profile that you are exercising 2 hours a day - when you are eating at a significant calorie deficit and exercising for long lengths of time daily your body is really in a state of shock - you may not be supplying it with the nutrients or the rest time needed to recover from and benefit from your workouts. Rest time is equally important as workout time - you must have both in order to see results whether your goal is weight loss, weight gain from muscle, or simply firming up.
What types of things are you eating? How often are you eating? What types of exercises are you doing? How much sleep do you get a night? How much water do you drink a day?

More information...
You have a valid issue... BUT, we need to know more.
1) For example, your age?
2) DO you currently have any medical issues and are you under the care of a Dr.?
3) What medications do you currently take (if you aren't comfortable posting, you can e-mail me...)
4) What were your previous daily intake (calories) and activity level: active, very active...?
5) Calories: HOW are you burning the calories... You are actually burning more than that due to sleeping. You burn during this time too. 77/hour.
6) What time is your last meal?
7) How many hours of sleep?
8) What are your eating habits?
9) Are you guessing at tracking or actually tacking?
10) Diet pills?
11) Caffine?
12) I might have more!
I Find it crazy that you've not lost... However, what is your current weight? Have you measured? Perhaps you've lost inches and gained muscle which weighs more than fat.
I took measurements before I started... I've lost 6.5 inches collectively. I've lost about 3 pounds per week but I was so lazy and tired before . I will soon reach a plateau but there are ways to break through that for sure!
1 month is a long time, but I am curious as to my questions being answered. You had better not buy any diet pills.

Transitions Lifestyle
I can certainly sympathize with you. I recently joined this program called Transitions Lifestyle. It is NOT a diet but a change in eating habits. No calorie counting per se, however you learn the difference between the good carbs vs the bad carbs. It's a low glycemic eating program. It's a 12 week program, I am in week 10 & lost 19 lbs, averaging 2/wk. I am sorry the program is almost over, but know I can keep it up. You can find it online, as well as a support system. Love it!

Accurate Scale w/Body Fat, Water, etc
Can you please tell me which scale is the most accurate for Body Fat %, water weight, etc? I have bought several; weighed myself 3 times in a row in the same exact spot & came up with different results.

Weight Tool
I bought a generic one --- hold on let me go look.
OK Health O Meter. You can add up to three people and set your information and it keeps track of it. It also tracks your water.
I like it. I think it was around 29.00 @ Walmart. There are more expensive ones, but this one --- well --- I have no complaints with... Of course, I keep it out of children's reach!
