I'm not doing Atkins, but I am trying a Gluten- free diet. I'm struggling! Even though I'm able to have rice based products I still find myself craving carbs!
I do feel a lot less bloated and a bit more energized. How are you doing with Atkins?

Atkins gets a bad rap for good reason-
Atkins was initially used to help people in the hospital with extreme obesity, but b/cit worked so well for weight loss, this turned into the diet by Dr. Atkins. The down side? Heavy protein diets are rough on the kidneys, and can impact overall health. Anyway, I did Atkins induction for a month or two, when I started here-when I was having high blood glucose readings. I eventually worked the carbs back up and now 7 months later (still losing) I have between 150-170 per day. I think the main goal with healthy and nutritious eating is balance, cutting any one food completely from your diet, will actually cause a contradiction in some other arena of your health/body. I just eat everything in moderation, get lots of fiber, try to stay away from processed food, eat little red meat, but lots of fruit and veggies and balance both types of carbohydrates together.
