All about STEVIA
Lately I have been reading/watching lots of different articles/vids on artificial vs. natural sweeteners. I don't use any artificial sweeteners, but did purchase powdered stevia of which I can not grow accustomed to liking, I have a stevia plant which I grew last year (perennial) it grows beautifully in our climate-and you can eat the leaves or chew them, right off the plant. I have dried them and made my own green powder w/ a mortar and pestle. It just taste weird to me so I don't use it often. This is a pretty comprehensive explanation of stevia in two parts, (less than 5 mins) and what it is, and what if any side effects have been reported or proven. Very interesting indeed!

I use stevia instead of sugar and am so glad that I found this natural sweetener! I use a pure organic powder with no fillers or additives at home. But I do carry the packets for convenience sake when away from home.

Hope you all watch the vids, they are really positive on STEVIA...
the only bizarre finding is that it actually interferes with ones DNA. No other "alternative sweeteners" do this, but I bet it is due to it's origins as a natural substance. Does it do any harm to one's DNA? I don't think they know that yet. Fascinating, none-the-less.
