Binge Suggestions
You need to figure out what triggers it, or what time of day you are most susceptible to it, and then make a plan that will help you avoid it. I am most at risk right when I get home from work, before dinner. My strategy is to premake my healthy dinners so that I can heat that up and eat it right away. I am also susceptible to overeating cake-like foods, so I simply have to keep them out of the house. Hope this helps.

"Trigger" foods
I have learned what foods I should totally avoid because they tend to trigger a binge. For me it is breads and pastas made with refined grains, also white rice. I have an insatiable appetite whenever I have even a taste of these.

Keep sugar away from me.
I eat something with sugar in it and I am like looking for something else to satisfy me. So, I also don't keep it in the house. I only eat sugar when I go out to a restaurant and can walk away from it. I usually share a sweet dessert. Also I can't be trusted with chips. I only allow myself to have 1 serving. Pre-packaged is the best for control. Go for a walk, call a friend on the phone, read a book. You're probably just bored.

Eat Up!
Sometimes I binge because I really want to feel full. Not that I starve myself or that I am even hungry. I just want to feel satisfied and have the comfort of a full stomach.
So, I eat up!
I find all my favorite vegetables and I make a giant veggie stir fry. And I eat without guilt. And I eat until I have that nice satisfied full feeling.
It almost feels like you've cheated but you haven't. (Just watch how much oil you use)

Don't Deny
Don't deny your favorite foods once in a while. This helps me from going crazy.

Coping Mechanisms
Many people who binge do so as a result of emotional distress. There is actually a binge eating disorder. Eating can be very comforting. It is easy, quick, inexpensive, and can guarantee pleasure and distraction. It is an effective coping mechanism for the short term, but can lead to guilt and frustration. When you find yourself wanting to binge, take a moment and breathe. Recognize your urge to binge, don't judge the urge, and find an alternative coping strategy. Do something you enjoy. I personally enjoy reading and have found that to be my most effective coping strategy.

binge eating
Try having a glass of water 1st before you start eating, you will fill up faster. Also eat foods that are high in fiber low in sugar. Fiber will fill you up, while sugar will make you more hungry.
