BAD KNEES
I lost 30 lbs last year kept it off until June when I hurt my right knee, xray showed wated under the knee cap. Couldn't bear weight on it, so I gained the weight back, now I am starting over. You got to rest your knee, it took me til end of Oct before I could walk again. I still have sorness but I am walking more now and hope to lose it again. You got to move it to lose it, so start walking a slower pace or do a hula hoop thing if you can. Activity is the key....

Bursitis?
I got terrible bursitis a long time ago and had to change my livelyhood because of it. Still once in a while I have a flair-up if I lean forward over my knees too much. Had to find alternate ways of getting things done. My brother taught me how to jump rope like boxers do. He had ruined his knee via football long ago, but assured me that if the proper technique is used, there is no knee pain. In fact, it strengthens the muscles that support the knees. Only jump high enough to clear the ground, alternate your weight left and right, and stand up straight (don't lean forward). FitClick has a good video demonstration for jump rope. You can start with a few simple jumps a day and increase slowly. Just be sure to stretch your calves afterwards.
