Carbohydrates are my nemesis
I am new to this site, but I am really motivated in using it. I am a former WW member and all I had to tally was my total points, not where it was coming from. I enjoy this site as it makes me responsible in several categories. Almost everyday I am finding that I am over my target in carbohydrates and low in my protein. I am not a low carb-high protein or vice versa person, but how do i find ways to meet my targets and not have all my calories based in carbs? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

planning
This is probably the most common problem so you are not alone! I've found the surest way to successfully hit my targets is to plan meals out ahead of time - fitclick allows you to do this for future days/meals and then you just use the "add planned meal" feature. You won't need to plan out very many days before you get a feel for the balance you need to hit - 3-4 days of planning was enough for me and then I was able to just log what I ate and I was hitting my targets. To plan - just swap foods in and out that you would/could eat in a day until you get to the balance you're going for.

One simple "rule" helped me also - at each meal eat at least one protein (meat, beans, eggs or dairy) and at least one fruit or vegetable.

You might also consider adding in a protein shake a day to up your protein intake - I am a vegetarian so that's a really easy way for me to make sure I'm getting enough protein. Plus if you're working out a post-workout protein shake is a good idea anyway.

carbs from fiber
I am also going over my carb limit. But most are from Fiber Cereal for breakfast and 1 fiber bar later in the day as a snack. I was also having yogurt or fat free pudding, but decided it wasn't a good idea because of their carb totals.
It doesn't really take much more to go over when you eat lunch and dinner. Should I cut out the fiber cereal and/or fiber bar or what carbs would be okay even if I go over.

carbs vs fiber
Raw fresh vegetables are the best. Packaged fiber products are mostly whole grains, which are very high in carbohydrate, due to the starch content.

Raw vegetables are high fiber, low calorie, full of natural vitamins & antitoxins, and CHEAP. Make a salad of fresh raw lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, mushrooms, radish, carrot and zucchini. Dress it with balsamic vinegar, a touch of garlic infused olive oil, salt and pepper. Yum!

If you really hate vegetables, eat fresh, frozen, or dried berries (unsugared). Other fruits will be higher in carbohydrate (sugars) but even on a low-carb diet, you can have a cup of blueberries, blackberries, and/or raspberries once a day. Cottage cheese partners well with it.
