Certain weight loss by certain date
I am getting Married in August and would like to achieve a certain weight loss by that date. I am curious how to set it up to where it will help me achieve that weight loss by that date. Any ideas?

I recommend
Rachel Cosgrove's book - The Female Body Breakthrough. It's got FANTASTIC dietary guidelines and a 16-week workout program for maximum fat loss - that'll get you in tip-top shape for your August date (congratulations!!). I do a LOT of reading about nutrition and programs and have tried lots and lots of methods and programs and I honestly think hers is the most sound and effective (and maintainable) of anything I've read or tried.

I'd encourage you to retool your goal to be a body fat loss goal vs a weight loss goal (you'll probably still lose weight on the scale but it will be just fat, not fat, muscle, bone and fluid which is what happens when you just diet and/or do cardio)....you will look better in your dress if you have some muscle tone to give you a sleek, firm, sexy physique than if you just diet down to a smaller, but still flabby, version of yourself (and your honeymoon will be more fun!! lol). Plus, adding muscle to get smaller will also increase your metabolism so it'll be easier to maintain that body post-wedding. You can figure out your body fat by using measurements (I recommend the calculator at livestrong.org--you just plug your info in), by using body fat calipers (someone else has to do this for you--most gyms will do it), or by using some type of electronic body fat monitor--you can buy a hand-held one for $35 or up.

Rachel's book also includes info on how to structure your diet and workouts to ensure your body "peaks" for a certain date/event...basically this is what fitness models and figure competitors do to make sure they look as leaned and defined as possible for a photoshoot or competition. I think you'd find that helpful to make sure you are sizzlin' hot for your big day.
