Digesting ice cold water....hummmmm
I have heard that your body burns more calories if you drink ice cold water compared to tap water....It has to convert the cold water to warm water therefore burning more calories....Unsure--what say you??

cold water
It takes one calorie to raise 1 g of water to 1 degree Celsius. Typically, ice is at 0 degrees Celsius and the human body is at 37 degrees Celsius. This means that in order to raise the temperature of a 16-oz. glass of ice water, which is 473.18 g, it would take 17,508 kilo-calories. In order to convert kilo-calories into the number of calories burned you must divide the kilo-calories by 1,000.

Calories Burned
The total number of calories burned while digesting 16 oz. of ice water is 17.5 calories.

FISHY COLD WATER
I consulted my health bible, and it said that cold water not iced water will do the job. I just started using this technique.

A trickle is fickle
But any little change will help. There are times when I'm over my calorie intake by only a few calories but its a enough to make me gain tenths of a pound every little bit helps. Think of this be done daiiy, at the end of the month or year this calories deficit will add up to a loss.

A little bit of cold water
I did some math on this, in one year it amounts to approximately a weight loss of eight pounds a year. And that's just one element to a healthy lifestyle choice, if you also exercise a few times a week, watch your portions, make food items that are the least healthy, but our favorites, a treat not a daily ritual and so on these things will add up to at least less weight to loose if any at all at the end of a year.

Now if your rushing to get into a bikini, or fit into a wedding dress after waiting til the last minute, I can see why one wouldn't be impressed with a yearly eight pound weight loss! But I think someone who's decided to live a healthier life would welcome any,m no matter how small, assistance with their lifelong endeavor to get and stay healthy.
