Do you eat just because the people around you are eating?
I have noticed where my biggest problem with eating is. I think I do pretty well until someone in front of me starts eating. My mom stays at my home alot and she loves to order pizza. I have a very low will power and if I dont leave the room, I will eat until I cant move. I also have binge eating disorder so if there is anything left over in the fridge, I cant stop myself. I was wondering how others deal with this. Self control and motivation are the things I seem to be missing. I dont know how to begin.

(pizzza, fried foods and chips) and although on occasion I will join them in a meal it longer interest me nor do I enjoy those foods!

I keep healthier snacks around the house. This past weekend I had family come in to visit. They ate junk food the entire time they were here. I stuck to my healthy eating. I snacked on fruits and nuts. Temptations are around us all the time. You have to tame them.

Used to more-but not too much now.
My hub is diabetic, and I am considered pre-diabetic, so we try to encourage each other to stay on track...but he travels a lot, and I know he cheats on his plan. I go a bit off track, so I think it's NOT being around anyone that poses the prob for me. I need those eyes watching me! LOL.

I fight with the same issues... binge tendencies and "companion" eating... The mental game is where the victory is won, NOT EASY :/ I went through a long process of emotional and spiritual healing and growth and learned enough about myself to begin the process of change. That was over 3-years ago. The battles still rage on but I am winning the war.

I am reading a book now called "Made to Crave". I am still learning :)

I use to have that problem....
I use to have that problem and I figured out that I have to find a hobby or activity that I can do rain or shine to relax me. It had to be something that no one could distract me from. So, I found that painting and listening to my MP3 player solved my binge eating habit. Unfortunately, I have not solved my stress eating problem yet....small steps right??????????
