Do you measure your servings?
Today is Monday and I am going to get very serious starting today..... I plan to measure my food servings but I wonder if it is worth it... What do you think?

Yes!
I've been doing it for quite a while and know about what 1/2 or 4oz is without using a measuring cup. Portion size does make a difference in the long run.

measuring
I keep a food scale on the counter and a dry-erase board on a cabinet door. I weigh everything as I prepare my food and jot it down to put in FitClick. I have been doing this for over a year now and it really doesn't take much extra time. I think weighing is faster than measuring spoons and cups.

Measuring foods
I would measure for a few weeks. 4oz measure is not what you think it is. After awhile you will learn what 4oz of meat is, 2oz of potatoe chips, 1oz or nuts and so forth. I would did it. I did and now find I don't need to measure or weigh my food
Good luck. Make a game of it. Write what you think it is weighs or measures

Portion Controll
If you google it, you can find portion control pocket guides you can keep with you. IT gives you a pretty good estimate for portion sizes. Like a serving of meat is a deck of cards, an portion of cheese is a dice, etc.

Don't be fooled by your eyes
I weigh or measure everything. I know that I can cut a 100 g portion of chicken by eye so I know I have become better at judging my portions by eye but I have noticed in the past that if I don't keep measuring and weighing, my judgement starts to become sloppy and overly optimistic. Soon my portions become unreasonable again. So now I just weigh or measure it to start with. It really doesn't take any extra time. Do you really care if you serve with a measuring cup instead of a serving spoon?
