Entered a new food but can't find it in a search
Yesterday I entered a new food for dinner. (Wegmans travel of india butter chicken). My wife tried to search for it to enter here meal but could not find it. I thought that it might take a day to update the data tables, but I couldn't find it in a search today. I was able to select it as a favorite. Can you help?? It would also be helpful if the search results were listed alphbetically. Thank you
Dennist

try your favorites tab
I've had the same experience and also learned to choose foods I create as favorites so that I can find them again. To find yours, instead of using the search tab, click on the tab to the right of that one called the favorites tab. It will have all of your favorites listed alphabetically.

Favorites won't help
Thanks for your reply but that won't help me. I already used my favorites to gain access to the new item. My wife who is also on fitclick can't access my favorites. So the only way for her to be able to access the food that I added would be with a search.

quotation marks didn't work either...
I hadn't realized that you were referring to using separate accounts. (That's great!)
It doesn't always work, but when I enclose my search terms in quotation marks, I get more specific results... I did find 20 results for “butter chicken” but, unfortunately, none of them are “Wegmans”. Sorry I couldn’t help.

RE: User Added Foods
We have set up the search function so that foods you add to the system automatically appear as a favorite and near the top of your search results. However, do not have it set up for other users to find your user-added items in the same fashion. In the mean time, we advise that you directly link your wife to food-item page. You should be able to access the direct link to the food-item by clicking on it in your Activity Log.

Bug with searching for User added foods
Maybe I didn't describe the problem correctly. I added a food (Wegmans travel of india butter chicken ). When I added the food the default box for "Show food in a public search" was checked. I know that I added the food because I can see it listed in my favorites. But even I can't find it when I search for it. I even copy the name for the favorites list and paste it into the search area just to make sure that I'm spelling it correctly, and I can't find it in the list of results. It's also not the first time that this has happened. I'm not sure what the above response means (However, do not have it set up for other users to find your user-added items in the same fashion) because I can find items that other people have entered all of the time. It's just sometimes they seem to go into limbo and are not accessable... Can someoone at FITCLICK try a search on my example and explain (Wegmans travel of india butter chicken ) It's in the system and it's listed for public search. Thank you

RE: Searching for user-created foods
Our technical team has addressed the problem. You should now be able to find your items via the search tool. There was a problem with the catalog of user-created foods not being updated automatically/regularly, but it's been resolved now. Please let us know if you continue to have problems searching for foods.
