Fit Bit questions
I'm curious too about exactly how the FitBit works. I looked online to try to find out more about it, and understand that it syncs with computer. I'm more interested in "how" it actually tracks , sleep, steps, etc. I looked at a couple in the store and noticed several different types and prices. One looks like a clip on pedometer, another looked like a Bluetooth ear bud and another looked like a wristband. So what's the advantage or disadvantage of each style , and does it really work.???Has anyone found it to be really beneficial,to tracking , and how do you check the accuracy of it. Thanks in advance for any info regarding the FitBit.

I have the FitBit "One." I have been using it daily (non-stop) since June. I wore it along with my previous pedometer until just a few days ago when the battery died on the old pedometer. The accuracy between the 2 pedometers is amazing. They always agreed on the steps within a VERY small margin of separation. The FitBit "One" also tracks stairs climbed and monitors sleep. I love those features!! :) It also has a rechargeable battery!

The other models of FitBit have different features.

The Zip is the least expensive. It cannot track sleep or stairs and does not have a rechargeable battery.

There are 2 wrist style FitBits...
"Flex" is the lower price (same price as "One"). It does NOT track stairs climbed but it is sweat and splash resistant and they say it can be worn in the shower. There is no feedback display screen on the "Flex." Only led lights show progress.

"Force" is a step up from the "Flex" and is more expensive. It has all the features of "One" plus it is worn on the wrist like a watch and it has the sweat/splash resistance.

To keep my "One" charged I have to periodically plug it into a cord that attaches to my computer's USB port. It charges very quickly relative to other rechargeable devices in my home. And much more convenient than running to the store for expensive "button" batteries to replace in my other pedometers.

Zip
I have recently started using the Fitbit Zip and love it. Ok it's the basic model in the range but it's great - some reviews say it tracks steps when you are traveling in a car but I haven't found this at all. It's so easy to set up as well. Will see how long it motivates me for and may then invest in the more advanced model
