What is glucosamine and how can it help
Two types of glucosamine supplements are currently available on the market – glucosamine sulfate and glucosamine hydrochloride.
Both forms of glucosamine are derived from the shells of certain seafood, such as crabs, shrimp and lobster.
When combined with chondroitin sulfate, which may help the body produce new cartilage, some scientific studies have found that glucosamine supplements can indeed reduce symptoms of pain, stiffness and limited mobility among arthritis patients.
However, conclusive evidence pointing to these benefits has yet to be found.
