Help
I am 40 years old I stepped into the gym for the first time four years ago. When I first started I weighed 255lbs (I am 5’-8” Tall) I was able to get down to 165lbs it took about 12 months. My weight has crept back up to 195lbs, I never stopped working out but my eating habits haven’t been the best. So I started eating right once again I take in about 1100 calories a day I’ve been doing this for a month now and have managed to lose only 1 lb. Can you explain this to me? Thanks for the help.

Nutrition
Nutrition is a important part of a successful weight training program. The body takes what it needs from what we give it. If your only giving your body 1100 cal and training 3-4 times a week your body is in starvation state. You should be eating at least 1650 cal that will get your metabolism going. You lost a lot of weight in a short time your body remembers. About 25% of weight lost from a low calorie diet is lean muscle tissue leading to a slower metabolism. Weight training for increased lean muscle tissue and aerobic activity to burn off body fat. Secondly a monitored and balanced nutrition intake. Don't try to loose more than 1-2 lbs a week. Keep up the good job you have done.
