Horseback Riding
Growing up in a big city, I have never gone horseback riding. What does it feel like? Does it hurt your rear end? I'm considering going to the Santa Monica mountains to a riding ranch. Would a 60 minute ride be ideal for me, since it will be my first time?

It's like riding a bike, only bigger! LOL
Hey Friend-sounds like fun. I grew up riding, we had horses, in NY state.I rode both English and Western-you will be riding Western (ie. bigger more comfy saddle) at a ranch, and it is a lot of fun! The horses do this all day long, so they all just follow along the trail. You may be a bit sore around inner thigh and knees if you are tight there anyway, otherwise, it feels very natural.

Love it!
I grew up in the city too but love to go riding when I can. I especially love riding on the mountains. Go for it!

All Day
I herded sheep on horseback all day long when I was nine. Visiting relatives in South Dakota. It was a lot of fun.
