I Hate Crunches
Do crunches really work? I hate the limited motion. Looking for a moderate ab workout.

I hate crunches too...try planks, they seem more effective to me without as much concentration

Leg lifts
Leg lifts work great! Or if you can do crunches on a ball then you will get more of a range when you do them.... Using the ball really works your abs

Crunches do work, you just need to know how to do them
Make sure that when you do crunches, you aren't jerking your body foward and back to the ground. first off, when you are laying on the ground, make sure you are squeezing your abdominal muscles. You should try to "make your belly button touch the ground," by sucking in your muscles. That actually makes your abdominals stronger because they are engaged. Then you should make sure that you use your abs to do the motion.

Don't forget there are many different ways of doing crunches, you can get bored, so do different ones and keep the tips above in mind.

Use the Workout tab
Listen

The workout tab has allowed me to add some many different ab workouts to the regime it is crazy and if you are home or at a gym it works fine.

Just check my workouts and I am a sit in front of the computer and watch tv type guy and I have no issues with them, and the little computer image they give you when clicking the workout is great as well

Crunches work... for what?
Crunches work for training yourself to do more crunches. There really is no carry over to anything else.

Visible abs are a function of body fat. We all have abs, they're just covered with a layer of fat. Crunches will not change that.

If you're looking to strengthen your core, there are far more effective exercises you should be doing: planks/bridges and woodchoppers are great isolation movements. Beyond that, many full body and/or upright load bearing exercises will also strengthen your core: front squats, deadlifts, standing shoulder press; anything that requires you to "brace yourself".

Good luck!
