I also need a weight loss buddy!
I am 54 year old wife and mother of two almost grown sons. I was diagnosed with Diabetes almost a year ago. I HAVE! HAVE! to lose 75 pounds! I want to get off my diabetes medication. And losing weight is the only way to do this. I need someone to encourage me and let me know when I need to do better. Anybody out there?

120 cal. ?
What do you mean by you have to stay on 120 cal. ? (per meal? did you mean carbs per day?) I have had type II diabetes for about 9 years. My weight has been a huge struggle for me. I told the doctor I need a brain transplant in order to lose weight AND KEEP IT OFF. My doctor than asked me how long would I like to live!!!!!! I found fitclick which has helped me more than any diet program, paid for or not. I showed the plan to the dietician at my doctor's office. She helped me set up the daily goals for carbs, protein, fiber, fats, etc. What an eye opener to see how much I over ate. I now eat 6 times a day, 1300 to 1400 per day, 150 carbs max per day. I am 5'3", am 54 years old and weighed 215 at my heaviest. I now weigh 168 and still losing. It has taken me about 9 months to lose the weight but I am not starving. Just counting the carbs has made such a big difference in my blood sugar and weight loss. I eat foods I like, and just make sure they fit into my daily goals. About once a week I take a day off and eat what I feel like. But, amazingly I don't go berzerk like before because in my head I know what is going into my mouth and I don't desire the "diet killer" foods as much anymore. You must be brutally honest when filling in the food diary. Every bite counts!(even Tums). I have access to a computer at work and home so I chart my eating every day.....even on my off days. Hope this helps. You can do it! It is a matter of life or early death!!!
