I deserately need help!!
Tonight I registered with this site hopeing to accomplish getting myself back in good health. I am diabetic and am taking meds, not yet insulin. I do not want to ever take it and deserately want to loose about 60 lbs to get my diabeties under control and get rid of some of my meds. I have very little to no willpower and the people that say they support me really don't understand and constantly supply food. Anyone who would like to partner with me in this effort to loose weight please let me know!

Response to desperately needing help
Hi maxilu,
I think willpower is over-rated. My beloved once told me that the best way to get healthy was to do healthy activities I enjoyed and to eat beautiful, delicious food that just happened to be healthy. This works fairly well for me because like you I also have very little willpower. So I concentrate on finding the most pleasurable healthy foods and the most enjoyable activities that will move my body. These activities change over time and I've had to learn that once I start disliking an activity the proper action for me to take is to find something else, not force myself to do something I dislike. Then I can go back to the first activity when my desires change.
What is your plan for weightloss/health? Is it something that you will enjoy?
Carolyn

We're in about the same boat
Hi. I have about 50 lbs to lose and I have concerns about diabetes (made an appt with the doc). Thankfully my husband is supportive but my mother, when I go and visit her, constantly tries to give me unhealthy things like cookies, ice cream, cake, etc. I'm learning to say No. lol
I've learned that it's not about never eating those things but rather eating them in moderation. For example, I used to eat fast food nearly every day. Now I have it as a treat once a month.
Anyway, I feel having support is a great thing. I would love to work at this with you. I'm also looking for support. :) We can all use it!
*hugs*
Jess

diabetic on pills also
I started my new life plan on Aug.6 2009. I have lost 62 pounds so far. I exercise by doing water exercises at a gym and walking and biking. I watch the carbs i eat.I am still very overweight but am starting to feel better all around . My doctor has taken half of my diabetic med's away. I would like to be there to encourage ou as well as get support for the 121 pounds i still need to lose.
