My solution
I save something special - but good for me - as a just before bedtime treat. Pineapple Upside Down Cake Yogurt and the new Cinnabon Special K bars come to mind. A nice cup of tea afterward seems to change my thought process and helps me quit craving the bad things.

Sodium too high...
Salsa has a lot of sodium, unless it is homemade... ;-(

I feel the same way
I struggle with eating after dinner as well. I have prayed that God would convict me to change my habits. It is usually late at night in front of the tv; all the while, my can eat a 7-11 and not gain an ouch husband, is sitting right next to me eating bowl after bowl of ice cream. I feel like screaming, "Stop the insanity!" I have realized that I am tired and thristy, not hungry. A lot of people mistake thirst for hunger and load up on excess calories right before bed. I will try a tall glass of ice water then just going to bed because I fall asleep in front of the tv anymore. I found your post helpful, thank you for sharing!

Safe bet
Try hard boiled egg whites, toss the yolk to avoid fat, or like I just did, one date(fruit) and a few walnuts does the trick and maybe your not getting enough to eat, what is your BMR?

Drink a lot of water and go to bed early.
