I have 60 lbs to loose
How do I start? I don't want to start off too drastic and then get discouraged and stop. I was thinking about for this first week, focus on eating right, then during second week, add in the exercise.

Joining FitClick is a great start!
Hi Weight45,
It's great that you've recognized the #1 reason people fail at weight loss - they set unrealistic goals then get discouraged when they can't meet them, or meet them in the short term, but can't sustain the regiment they used to lose the weight, over the long term.
The answer is small changes that you can live with. To start, use the food journal and simply record what you are eating over the next week. Compare that to the calorie intake recommended for a balanced diet for someone of your eight, weight and activity level. Next analyse your problem areas and see what small changes you can make to your diet to lower you calorie intake, while increasing your nutrition. Next add some form of exercise at least 3 times per week. You don't have to start out by killing yourself at the gym. Just increase your current activity level. If you're not doing much at all, simply going for a 30 minute walk 3 times per week is a good start. More calories burned than used = weight loss. You'll find lots of supportive people here. Good luck.
