Your weight is not holding you back. It's your struggle to stay on track and you are down because of the way you've allowed yourself to become the weight that you are. Once you realize the source of the weight gain, you can focus on changing that focus on positive energy. You cannot lose weight for your son and for your goals of being "around for him..." I have a four year old and an 8 year old.

I finally realized that the reason for my weight gain was a very emotional life struggle that I needed to face head on. It took all of my mental and physical energy. I had to deal with that and I became tired... Sadly, I now realize I should have stayed more focused on myself / exercise during this trying time.

Why do you want to lose weight? Why do you want to become healthy... What is holding you back from focusing on this? Be honest with yourself. Start to jounal. It won't be easy, but it's rewarding. Every little percentage of loss is a reward.

Don't take away from yourself to lose. Give back. You lose a pound, give yourself a treat!

It sounds selfish to some degree, but you must in order to find peace. I always felt guity leaving the kids in the daycare while I worked out, but I NEED this time. I clear my head, study and read during this time...
