I think my scales are schizophrenic !
About a year ago I purchased a set of digital scales when my old mechanical scales broke. I have about decided these scales are schizophrenic! I can weigh one morning and weigh about what I think I do, then the next morning I will weigh 3-5 pounds heavier. In a day or two I will weigh again and find I am back to the first weight. Now, I realize that my weight will fluctuate some, but this is a little crazy. I think I will purchase a cheap set of mechanical scale and see what happens.
Has anyone else had this experience?

Are you weighing yourself naked? If I am wearing clothes it makes my weight vary by a few pounds. It also makes a difference if I have an empty bladder and had a BM. If you are weighing yourself daily under the same circumstances every day it should only vary slightly. Maybe it is time to get a "sane" scale. Walmart's cheapy $15 scale works just fine for me.
Good luck!

just weigh in once a week
In addition to colleenski's good info, I've learned from reliable sources that weighing in should be done but once a week. Then you won't drive yourself crazy! (I've also noticed that standing on the scale with my feet in different places causes different results.)

They are all insane!
I've had the insane scales at my house too! Sometimes I can track the insanity back to to much sodium consumption the day before. I always retain a lot of water if I eat chinese food or something like it. The suggestion that you only weigh once a week under the same set of circumstances is a good one, but I'm drawn to that darn scale against my will every day!
