Middleager?
Hi - I'm 39 and dangerously close to 40 and I don't feel middleage. You are 42 and say your middleage - - stop that! 'cause that make me middleage also :)

I am in need of some motivation too. About a year and 1/2 ago I was doing so well, regular exercise (bike to work, run, free weights) and was loving my bod for the first time in a long while. Then my world turned upside down - my hubby got real sick and I just stopped exercising. I stayed busy with work, housework (major cleaning and organizing anything to stay busy so I didn't totally freak out), caring for hubby, mom to teenager and thought that would be enough but it wasn't. I have gained back about 15 pounds - my clothes don't fit right and I haven't had energy like I used to.
Thank God hubby is over the rough part and I actually went for a jog this morning but I am finding it so hard to get back into the habit.

I'd love a friend that will push me to exercise every day. Can you act like a drill sgt. because sometimes that's what it takes for me.

43 just like my waist!!!
Hi girls....I am 43 and was told by my doctor that because of my age and that I might as well forget about losing weight until my 50's!!! I am having a hard time believing that so I am determined to lose 45 pounds and get into the best shape possible so that I can go back to my doctor and tell her to shove her opionion up her #!?!?@

It sounds like we could all help each other...what do you say?

Not right
I can't believe that your doctor would tell you that you can't lose weight until your 50. That was so wrong to do. I hope that you do lose the weight you want so that you can go in there and tell her about herself. And I hope she hangs her head in shame. Good luck, I believe in you!!

Needing the love...
Ladies...you're preaching to the choir. I'll be 47 in 2 months and I'm shocked...shocked I tell you at this body. this is not mine!!! who stole my body when I wasn't looking.
I need someone to ever so gently kick me in the tush and remind me I can and should do this. For no other reason, than me.
Up for the challenge?!

Never too old
I'm 57 and am not on a diet but a life change for the last time. I am going to get fit and slim making it a life goal. I have been on the lose/gain merry- go -round one too many times. It is all a matter of planning ahead what you are going to eat, and making exercise a natural part of your day. So simple on paper, so hard in reality. But the feeling of being fit, healthy and comfortable in your clothes is very powerful. So let's get moving!

Fifty plus years and counting!
I just turned 58 and I am finding that changing eating habits and exercise are not enough. I am continuing to exercise by walking on the treadmill and doing a variety of other exercises including strengthening, balance and coordination and pilates along with some aerobics which includes beginner stepping. My goal is to get my blood sugar levels down so I can ditch the meds. It is so much harder to lose the weight than when I was younger. Not having an exewrcise partner makes it harder to stay motivated. Finding this website has really helped.
