I'm not losing lbs.
I've gone from 263 to 228. I'm very proud of that. Now, I'm getting frustrated. I'm not losing any more weight. I've notice my clothes getting bigger but, the scale hasn't moved in a while. I exerise quite a bit. What's happening? I'm not using any weights right now when I exerise. so, I don't see where it would be muscle mass. HMMMM. I guess I could develope muscle even without weights. But still I would like to see the # on the scale go down more. Any advice.

Not sure but...
There may be a few things going on. As you lose weight, your body needs fewer and fewer calories to maintain your new lighter self. So, your caloric intake has to be reduced as you lose weight. Are you keeping careful track of that? At its simplest, if you eat fewer calories than you burn, you will lose weight. Its just thermodynamics. Now, there are two ways to work that relationship. You can either eat fewer calories, or you can burn more. Exercising is great, but how many calories are you burning? Is it high intensity exercise or just going for a walk? Building muscle is a wonderful way to burn more calories because muscle requires more calories for upkeep by your body than fat does. So, if you add muscle, you burn more calories all day, every day. Have you been monitoring your body fat? That would be interesting as well, to see how that has changed with your weight loss and if it is still changing. As I was getting back in shape, my weight wasn't changing, but my body was definitely changing shape because fat was leaving and muscle was being built. More than anything else - don't quit!

I'm confused
I can't keep track of my body fat right now. I don't have the right tools yet, if you will. Um, I am confused I took a week off from exercising and lost a whole 5 lbs. So, are you saying I should keep exercising even though the # on the scale don't move? Oh, I'm doing more than just walking. I have a whole 45 min. routine that I put together myself using the exercises on this web cite. I'm doing strengh 3 days a week and yoga 2 days a week, Sat. is my walk day at the park. Sunday is my rest day or walk day. Should continue that no matter what?

I said I lost another 5 lbs. It was 4 lbs. I counted wrong. But still, it finally went down. I will definitly take your advice on the calories. I didn't thank about that. So, thanks for the tip on that.

It sounds like you are on the right track...
You should certainly keep exercising even if the scale isn't moving. Also, it is very easy to get preoccupied with the number on the scale and you can drive yourself crazy. Especially as a female, your weight is likely to vary by several pounds throughout the month due to water retention and such. More important than day to day variations is the overall trend. Do you average weight for this week less than last week? How about last month? Try to ignore the sudden spikes and drops and concentrate on the overall trend.

As far as your workout goes, you might want to look into something that will elevate your heartrate a bit more to alternate with your strength work. When you are walking are you really pushing yourself or is it a more relaxed stroll? Getting your heart rate elevated is what really burns the calories, and longer is definitely better. You could also hold some small dumbells in your hands as you walk and really work your arms to help get your heart pumping.

Good for you for having a rest day. That's important.

Again, don't get overly excited about a sudden drop in weight and don't get overly depressed about a sudden increase. They may be nothing more than normal fluctuations due to hydration level, time of the month, etc.
