Insulin and metabolism
I keep wondering whether or not insulin injections have a negative effect on the body's metabolism!!?? I take a lot of insulin everyday and feel like this might be one of the reasons why I struggle with my weight. Does anyone know for sure?
Thanks for your support.

Insulin...does it help or hinder?
My endocrinologist told me that people with diabetes may find it extremely difficult to lose weight, however I am not completely sure about insulin being the culprit because she prescribed glucophage for me to help me lose weight easier while dieting.
I would try googling that question to see what you could find on the net.

Insulin...
I think it might be more accurate to say that your weight is part of the reason that you are on insulin. By reducing your weight, chances are very good that you will reduce the amount of insulin that you require per day. I work in health care and I see this happening on a fairly regular basis.
Weight gain is not a cause of diabetes but excess weight makes the management of diabetes more problematic.
Most (not all but most) weight gain is pretty much a case of calories in, calories burned. Weight retention is pretty much a case of calories in, calories burned.
Says she who at 210 pounds (and apparently holding) is still looking a lot more spiffy than she did some 30-40 pounds ago
