Just need someone to talk to and help me through.
Hi, Im 19 about to turn 20, and I am 55+ lbs overwieght. I have tried so many different things to try and lose and i keep getting pressured form family and friends to lose weight. It has gotten to the point of I don't think anyone will fall in love with me and I don't think I could be happy unless I am at least 55 pounds lighter. Right now i am trying insanity because my brother suggested the workouts. What you need to know is that I am very athletic (I play soccer and other sports), and i am only 200 lbs to begin with.

You can do this!
If you need someone to talk with, I am here for you. I am also 19 and will turn 20 in October. I can relate to a lot of things you've said. I am only 5 feet tall, and I am about 40 pounds overweight. For me, its not just my weight that makes me self conscious, for the first time in over five years I've finally stopped wearing makeup on a daily basis. Instead of feeling down about ourselves, I'm sure there are plenty of good qualities that we have that we should celebrate! Why don't you respond to this message by telling me a little bit about the things you like about yourself. Best of luck with everything!

I think I can.
Thanks, I think one of the only parts of me that I like is my eyes, and then I like that I have good friends when I'm at school. Also I like my singing voice, people say I need to take more chances by auditioning for better choirs at school, but im content with my small choir. I also like my long brown hair, even though at times it can suck to brush it.

What are some things you like about yourself?

I know you can!
See that's a great start! I think if we focus on the things we like about ourselves this whole process will be a lot easier. I think my favorite thing about myself is my smile. I also love to sing! I've been writing songs since I was 14 and just finished recording my first album! Its a lot of fun, and it helps me express a lot of things I don't feel comfortable saying in words. It's been a long journey for me to finally believe that I am beautiful. I've always felt unworthy. So whenever I find myself thinking something negative about my physical appearance, I tell myself that I am physically perfect because I am alive. If I was not physically perfect, I wouldn't be able to breathe, or even live at all. :)

I have run out of title names!
I like that look at it. I am starting to enjoy the insanity workouts my brother has me started on. The biggest challenge for me right now is the calorie counting. my family doesnt have a lot of money for food, but I also know that if you aren't eating enough calories you won't lose the weight. So I have been drinking a lot of smoothies made with water or just eating a lot of cereal to get the count. I feel bad because it is their meal food but they are the ones pushing me to lose the weight. It is a predicament.
