Losing Ground
The first week I lost 9 lbs. This week, I am actually doing better on my diet because I am not as hungry and am faithfully exercising, even more than my workout plan provides for. Even so, I have gained back 2 lbs. Any advice?

watch the calorie deficit...
If you are not eating enough to support your base metabolic needs your body will go into a starvation mode and protect fat stores. After 7 days at a large calorie deficit your metabolism hormone, Leptin, drops significantly and prevents you from losing weight.

Hang in there! Your body is probably gaining water weight that is going to the muscles to help them recover from the exercise that it has been recieving. That has happened to me, I ligtened up on the strength training and wha-laa!- the weight came right off and I was leaner looking and feeling great. Also there should be a day of rest between workouts to give the body a chance to recover; if it does not have that chance you will start to feel overtired. Sometimes working out can be a real stressor if you do not listen to your body and seek rest as well. I hope this helps. . .

Thanks for the boost. I actually did give up for a few days and although I didn't lose any weight, I stopped gaining at the rate of a pound a day. I guess its time to get back on the wagon and start over. I have to remember that I am still 7 lbs from where I was when I started three weeks ago.

I agree w/ jjswbs2 she's right.
Keep the metabolic fire burning-with proper eating and some exercise-but I agree, important*don't starve yourself. You can lose weight and eat well.
