Mc Donalds Pacakes & Syrup
Did you know that Mc D's pancakes, syrup & 2 pats of butter is 600 calories? I didn't check the nutritional value until after I ate them. I was just wanting a taste of home so asked my husband to take me to Mc D's for pancakes and coffee. Wow, I don't like eating so many calories for breakfast. I'll know the next time. They were rated C- on nutritional value. Should have made them at home.

Smarter Choices
Like you, I'd make smarter choices if I knew the nutritional content of foods in advance, but sometimes it's just not possible. I'm then disappointed to learn I've consumed the bulk of my daily calorie allotment in just one meal, with low nutritional value.

I think you'll find that even if you make pancakes at home, they really don't have much nutritional value and are high in fat and calories, particularly if you use butter and syrup like I do. They are not a good breakfast choice if you are trying to lose weight. They are yummy treat once in a while though :)

Blueberries
I really like to replace syrup with fresh blueberries, and strawberries; but like you said just once in a while as a treat. It's so hot here today that I took a second swim and worked off those extra calories. Back to steel-cut oatmeal and blueberries!

Only eat 1/2
If you realllllllly want those pancakes, ask them to give you a go box and before you start eating them put 1/2 of the serving in the go box and cover it for the next days breakfast-----only 300 calories!

Steel-cut oatmeal? That sounds great. In fact anything that includes steel fascinates me. That's how much I love my steel roof back in Union City.
