Menopause
Hi, I am trying this site/program for the second time. I'm doing well with the calorie tracking and now I want to incorporate exercise as well. I have full use of a gym/pool/track, whatever I need. My doctor said to take it easy on myself to get in shape because of anxiety issues relating to menopause. That sounds boring to me but I want to get fit, lose weight, and still feel ok emotionally and mentally while I get through menopause. Any ideas for workouts? I want to lose 27 lbs. Going from 177 to 150. Thanks!

yoga!
You should try a yoga class at your gym! If you have anxiety and want to work out, definitely try it. It can become a special time to stretch, strengthen and relax, and you feel so good afterwards. I'm not even talking about the meditative parts that you usually don't do in gym classes.

You might even look up yoga 'remedies' for menopausal complaints.

Add some cardio classes/swimming and maybe weights if you like if you feel like pushing it harder at this point.

Yoga alone several days a week is certainly great, too :) For health, make sure something you do includes a pace that is aerobic (yoga can, but you'd have to check out the classes offered. Some are too slow to be aerobic).

Yoga
Thank you for your input, I am going to try yoga and probably swimming and weights, also walking. Just have to figure out how to work it in with grad school and working. I appreciate your thoughts.

I hope this is not another "year resolution" because Im getting kind of frustated after so many attemps in loosing weight: I M turning 40 within 2 years and I know this would get harder and harder. I m 150 lbs and I hope to be 130 soon! Good Luck to you!
