Mixed Results
Is there anyone else that is dealing with this? I have lost weight, which is noticeable in my face, but I am not noticing a difference in my jeans. I did not start out with them skin tight, but they are not getting loose either! I have heard many times from many sources that you drop one size for approximately every ten pounds of weight loss. I have lost 12 lbs and am a bit frustrated that I cannot see the difference past my disappearing double chin! I am hoping that this is due to increased fiber (bloating?) but I would expect that should be resolving itself after three and a weeks. Thank you for any replies!

weight loss
How are you losing the weight? Are you dieting? Restricting calories? Working out? A combo of these?

I ask because the way you lose weight can sometimes be due to how you're doing it. Also if you don't drink enough water your body will retain it which will make you look bigger than you actually are.

For example. If you are using weights then usually you'll notice the loss in fat before you see it on the scale.

If you're not eating enough then you'll lose muscle which will show on the scale as a lot of weight...more than you notice because you're still retaining fat.

It sounds weird but you have to eat in order to lose fat (I'm not saying you're not eating enough...I don't know if you are or not).

How long have you been trying to lose weight? The weight doesn't come the way most people expect. Doing a lot of crunches, for example, doesn't mean you'll lose weight mostly in your abdomen. It comes off ,instead, in sheets. So you'll notice it more in the areas that have less fat than those areas where it's thicker. So you'll notice it in your face before you notice it in your belly.

I just thought about something. Have you been drinking more water than you were? You could've lost water weight which I'm told can be as much as 10 lbs. You lose that by drinking more water.

*hugs* Hope this helps.

Thank you
I have been doing all three...and have increased my water intake dramatically. The statement about "losing it in sheets...notice it more in you face than in the belly..." Makes sense. I have been doing the slow -and - steady method and have lost 12 pounds in a little over a month. I do have a few health issues (SLE), so this may also affect things. I appreciate your feedback!

On my feet
I teach elementary school, so I am on my feet all day long...then I add my cardio and my strength training. The more that three pounds I lose a week is because I quit taking some of my medication for lupus, which has a tendency to make you gain. Thank you!
