NOT WORKING
I have been working out 4 days a week at the gym and really trying to eat the right foods (done countless hours of research) but nothing is happening. I have lost very minimal inches and only a couple of pounds and I have been at this for 2 1/2 months. Am I expecting too much (I am 40 you know :). It's just really difficult to stay motivated when I am not seeing the improvements that I thought I would see.

Re: Not Working
First of all congrats for sticking with your workout program. You are healthier just by doing that. Secondly, look at total calorie intake. I find that recommended calorie intake for my size is too much. Unless I really watch every morsel I don't lose weight. Finally, consider giving up meat and dairy. I promise you will eat more (vegetables, whole grains and legumes) and lose weight. If you go this route go easy on the amount of whole grains as that will defeat your weight loss goals.

Check this out
Hey, take a look at my website. I'm a REAL person, and I know exactly how you feel. I struggled with my weight until I finally learned exaclty how to get it off. I lost 70 lbs after having 3 kids and now I happily rock a six pack. My husband was skeptical but he tried it and lost 12 lbs in the first week. Then a total of 60 lbs. No bs. check out the link, look at our before and after pics. There's even a free one week trial so you can see the plan. There's a diet plan to follow and a workout routine for each day. http://fitnessguide365.com

Hi-don't give up!
Sometimes we overthink things, it's pretty simple, and most every veteran on here (think leaderboard) has a great philosophy-"Burn more calories than you consume" I don't always do it, but when I have...it actually works. Oh-and cutting out bad carbs processed sugar etc. I sneak a few treats here and there, no biggie, but for the most part I prob would lose more if I cut down a bit more. I think we all really know what to do it is just doing it...like NIKE says, that is the hardest. Best of luck, and DON'T quit.

I just started my journey to become a healthier more fit person on April 7th. So far I have gone from 275 down to 263.8 this morning. CUTCARB12 is absolutely right it is entirely changing the way you eat and burning more then you take in. I am 6 foot 4 inches and when i graduated basic training in 2005 i weighed in at 180lbs. I don't want to get back to that small but I had to change something. I went to gnc and talked with the guys there. They set me up with the W.I.N. weight loss sytem and some promasil whey protien and gave me tips for the gym. I go 5 nights a week now and I love it I feel worse when i don't go. I haven't eatin a sweets since that day and i have cut my calorie intake down to below 1800 per day. It was hard at first but once your body gets used to it its easy and you feel way better. Persistance is key here and watching what you eat is crucial!

I hear ya
I am only 23 and I am a coach for beachbody, (beachbodycoach.com/JESS15179) I had a c-section four months ago and for some reason my body is just really hard to lose weight. I have been having a hard time doing it since I was 16 and went on the depo prevara shot and gained A LOT of weight. So far I've stuck with beachbody and surprisingly it does help. There is soo much support and so many guides to help!! I am on here just for the extra support. I'm more like you. I think it really depends on individuals bodies.
