Need a motivation strategy---do you have one?
Gosh , some weeks I have no problems with getting off my duff and exercising but I really have problems with getting motivated to do strength training...what do you do to motivate yourself to strength train? I need your suggestions

results
my motivation is seeing the results of firmer body and more muscle definition. Also it is much easier to keep consistent training when I schedule to meet someone to do a dumbbell circuit together.

Fitter Me
Keep seeing a fitter version of myself and working out with my friends (in their 40's) keeps me challenged and motivated

My motivation is this site
If I don't exercise every day then I can't post a work out. If I eat junk, I have to actually look at the calories I've consumed when I update my food journal. Worse yet, if the number on the scale goes up - I'm tracking that too. These are all strong motivating factors for me!

My motivation for the past 32 years is I love to train
When my friends ask me how do you do it they say I don't have the motivation. In my mind I say its your lifestyle and then I tell them I love to train. They eat fast food, drink, smoke all sorts of stuff then eat a twinkie. Nutrition is so important and habits. Join a gym like Curves find a training buddy. You must enjoy doing the activity you participate in. You like kickboxing so join a Tae Chi Club better for your core, and grace.

Tracking & Buddy System :)
Tracking everything here at FitClick is a big motivation for me. Love seeing the numbers reflect the health improvements I experience!
Finding social support is also key... online support from fitclick friends PLUS workout buddies! Meeting some of my Curves buddies at 1:30 today for Curves + dumbbell circuit :)

Motivation
I agree with jjswbs2, the results are a major motivator!
I am a member at a local gym and find that the classes are one of the easiest ways to get involved with weight training. They get you started and once you start seeing results you want to work harder at getting the definition! I now schedule at least 2 classes in a week and at least 2 days of my own weight training! Also, it helps to get someone to show you how to properly do it- like ap ersonal trainer or even someone at the gym.
