Need help with workout ideas
I am a 36 (almost 37) female who is overweight. I am 5'10 and 235 lbs (I cannot believe I am actually putting this in here). I gained a lot of weight since 2003. I had a total knee replacement in 2007 at 34 (Old basketball injuries and a car accident in 2002) and I had twin boys in 2005. Between the two my weight has gone through the roof. In 2002 I was very healthy and weighed 170ish but then the car accident and since then I have packed on the pounds.
Long story short, I started back at the gym and I am on a diet. The gym I go to is one of those no-frills type place. State of the art equipment but no classes. My diet is portion control, eating more healthy, low carbs, etc. I really did not follow through with my PT for my knee and now I do not have full range of motion and no muscle what so ever in either of legs so I am somewhat limited on exercises. I been doing the elliptical for about 30 minutes but strength training I am at a loss so this is where I turn to you guys for some help/ideas/suggestions.
Thanks!

strength training
I'm using a book called The Body Sculpting Guide for Women. I don't really like their diet plan but the workout routines are great! It's a 3 day a week routine (I do it Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays and do cardio the other days though you can do it after your weights too). There's also a lot of helpful information in it as well as details on how to properly do the exercises.
*hugs* Wish you best hon!
