Need to get down to 140 lbs!
Hey everyone! I'm new here, and I believe this is the perfect site for me. I've tried various websites, but they all seemed a little difficult to get around, but this looks quite easy for a simpleton like me. A little backstory, I used to be a very healthy size 7 in high school, until I was expelled. During that time between moving from one school to another, I ended up being homeschooled whilst going through a bunch of emotional trauma. I ended up turning to emotional eating in order to take my mind off my issues, and I found that I had gained a bunch of weight. I've had a few attempts to lose the weight, but I've not lost that much. I'm 200 lbs right now, and am trying to get to a normal 140. My body type will never let me get to my desired 100, but 140 is a healthy size for me. I would love to make some friends on here who are in the same boat, who are trying to stop "emotional eating", as this is my biggest problem. I'd love to communicate through this site, through email, and even through text or maybe we can workout together one day if we get along well enough through email and phone :)

Hope to hear from you!

hello pinkie!!!
your story sounds pretty similar to mine in a lot of ways and if you really stick with the website it works. i've lost ten pounds in about five weeks. right now i don't have as far as you do to go but i've been over 200 pounds myself before and i'd be more than happy to be your buddy on this journey!

Hey!
Thanks so much! It will be great to have a buddy :) When you first started on your weight-loss journey, how did you curb cravings? I'm so used to pigging out on a Friday night, and I'm biting my nails and chugging down water trying to stop thinking about food lol :-P

cravings
i let myself take one day off a week. so when i think about whatever it is i want, i know that i can have that on the day i take off. usually i do sunday unless there's something going on like if i know i'm going on with my friends on a wednesday night, i'll make that the day i take off and i'll order whatever i want while i'm out. chugging water is good and i drink a lot of iced tea with nothing in it, or sometimes a sugar substitute like splenda if i'm craving sweets really bad.
plus i had to learn to be harder on myself like just tell myself "well if you things like that more often than you don't, you're going to be fat. period. so only eat that if you want to stay fat."
the best advice i can give you about cravings is to stay busy, though. you'll realize you were eating a lot because you were bored. doing anything is better than sitting in front of the television, for me.
