New Here and looking for support
Hello everyone. I'm new here. I joined today. I haven't worked out today but I did yesterday and I posted it in the workout tracker thing. I think I've gotten the hang of this site. lol

Anyway, I'm looking for others who maybe would like to support one another. I have already lost 30 lbs and I'm looking to lose another 50. It's hard work. I lost those 30 mostly by eating healthier. I have been sporadic in my workouts though I finally am more consistent.

I want more than being thin again. I want to be healthy.

I've learned some things but I also know I have a lot still that I need to learn. :)

*hugs to all*
Jess

good luck
It is difficult to do anything like that in life, especially somthing like loosing weight that takes a long time, and can be very discouraging. I know that if your not happy it can't work and part of it is being realistic. No one loses 5 pounds a week, it is not possible to sustain. the emotional toll crash dieting takes on a person assures failure. Knowing that realistically that many weeks you may not loose any weight isimportant. I happen to enjoy working out so I dont have a problem with missing workouts but if ya don't enjoy working out it is easy to skip working out. But I do know that anytime i workout when i dont feel like it, I feel much better after. Another thing is that the weight may not come off as quick as it did in the beginning. and when we get a little older and thoes hormones are starting to change it is sometimes more difficult to make our boddies do what we want them to do. Ie estrogen tends to make the body retain water and add body fat and at the same time causes muscle development to wain. So anyway good luck and let me know how it goes. Cory

Hi!
I'm new to this too, and I could really use some support as well! My fitness goals are a bit different than a lot of peoples, but I think the big thing is wanting to be healthier. If your still lookin for friends, let me know!

Hola
Girl... I'm new too on this site but I am looking to make a change because I know that it'll help me out on other aspects in my life! I'm always tired and at times grumpy but I know its because I don't like the way I look or how unhealthy I'm feeling!

I used to think that I was fat when i weighed 150 or so...and here I am at 186... i want to maybe loose 2 lbs per wk and go from there...im really picky and I'm latina so our foods are a bit different so that's going to be a challenge for me!

Good luck and I'm here anytime!
Erika

Thanks!
Thanks guys for writing. Cory, I'm not sure if you're writing what you write everyone or what. But I know about realistic goals. I know how unrealistic 5 lbs a week is. lol While something like that would be nice, I doubt it's even healthy.

I'm not so worried about the weight as I am about fat percentage. I know from my past that I can lose fat and not lose a single pound. *shrugs* Then there are times I can lose pounds but stay the same size. Weight is very weird.

I'm mostly measuring my successes in dress sizes. My next mini goal is to lose 12.5 lbs (making me 177.5 lbs) and have a dress/pants size of 14 (I'm about a 16 right now) by March 31st.

*hugs to all*

Great Mini Goal Jess!
I have a mini goal too...when I reach it...I get a facial...I have lbs to go :)

There comes a time, when we actually grow up a bit where healthy is better than skinny...and when we get healthy...sometimes skinny is really not that far off :)

Ummmmm...Latin Foods
My condolences to you Erikita....your culture's foods are awesome, making it that much harder to give it up....it's times like this I am glad I am a boring non cook-like person...I can't cook, nor does my culture require it :)

But you could tell me all about your Latin foods and I could live vicariously through you!! hehehe

oh wait...don't...it'll be too painful for both of us!

Best of luck
Annie

RE: Great Mini Goal Jess!
Thanks Annie! I've been debating what I'm going to do when I reach my first goal. My gym has a spa that does a lot of things. I think I'm going to get a massage when I reach that goal. One of the one hour ones! lol I LOVE massages and I've never had a professional one. My back can really use it too! lol

*hugs*
