New To This, Lookin for a buddy
Hey Everyone :) I just came across this site and it looks great so here it goes. I am 23 yrs old, been "chubby" my whole life and at 21 I was a wopping 155lbs and im only 5 ft! I felt awful. But I changed my life and lost 45lbs and kept it off for 2 years... I quit smoking and I felt amazing. I worked out like 6 days a week and never skiped a day. Well I used to run like 3 miles a day, did weights and elliptical like crazy and injred my knee so bad and its never really healed. Ive lost my motivation and i am depressed :( ive ganied 15lbs back, lost my definition, and im smoking and feel I like crap! I am in this terrible funk that I cant get out of and what im getting at (sorry) is when I was going through my journey the 1st time I had an online friend that I became so close to and we shared our secrets, cried and laughed together and motavated eachother until we both met our goals. it was such an amazing experience because I felt like if I didnt do it I was failing him and I couldnt let him down. Im hoping maybe I can find a buddy on this site again that I can jumpstart my journey with ? Thanks for taking the time I really appreciate it. Good luck to all.
<3

Sounds like a simuar workout I do everyday...
I have always been fit until the last 3 years (I put on about 50 lbs). I went through a bad break up, and ate my way to happiness..... wrong.
I have been going to the gym again everyday for the last 4 weeks, and have lost about 22 lbs so far, but I need to loose another 30 to get back into the clothes that fit me well. I run on a Pecor efx576i for 3-5 miles each day (14/9 settings), and I am increasing the settings weekly. Also I use free weights (even though we have every machine possible at the club). I have 3 1/2hrs of fast tempo music on my iPhone, and I use blue tooth headphones so the cable does not get in my way!!!!! I am interested in a workout buddy with whom I can share success and challenges with. Thank you, DRN

Greetings
Tara,
In my past I had an experience similar to what you described. I tried losing weight and getting in shape a couple times but was not very successful until I found a “workout buddy”. In my case, the gym I belonged to, at the time, had a signup sheet for people interested in a weightlifting partner. When I finally found someone that could meet to workout I managed to stay focused for almost 10 months and lost 40 pounds in the process. I hadn’t felt that good in years.
Sadly, situations change and my weightlifting partner could no longer make it to the gym. I found my fitness momentum came to a screeching halt. Now almost 12 months later I’ve put back on 30 pounds of the 40 I had lost.
I realize that it wasn’t him pushing me but rather my motivation to succeed seems higher when I have someone else that is depending on me. In other words, I can let myself down (missing goals) easier then letting someone else down.
If you don’t mind I’d like to hear about how you are getting things restarted!

Would like to help
Hi Tara,
I would love to help you reach your goals. I know it is hard when you have an injury and are unable to do the things you love. I have had three shoulder surgeries. My shoulder, although better, still aches during the winter time, and I am unable to some of the things I used to do. I work a lot and have two kids, so I don't have time to necessarily work out. I have found success and have lost weight. If you go to my username and add .com afterwards, that is how I have lost 12 lbs. and 10 1/4 inches in 5 weeks. About 9 months ago I was very depressed also. The economy, life, and my overall happiness with myself played a part of it. I feel better and look better. I know I can help you, if you would like. I wish you the best and hope you achieve your goals.

Me too
Im new too. I am 27 single mom, two kids. Full time surgical assistant. I was never more than 125 lbs. then after second daughter I was 225....for three years. I got disgusted, worked out, ate healthy. I was completely motivated! Then I underwent three stomach operations. Gallbladder, spleen, and at Christmas my colon. I had a rare hereditary problem and had a very hard time for several months with the illness, the surgery, and infections following. I have eaten my stress and fear right back up to 150 and creeping!! I am not going back to 220 and I need help, support and someone to take those delicious cheeseburgers out of my hands. So, since I cant have someone do it for me I decided to try this. Anyone wants to chat....could use the help...
