Newbie Here!
Hello~
A little about me- I am 38 and a mom of 4 awesome kids! I have alot of weight to lose! I weigh about 220lbs. YES I am a BIG Girl! I am looking for some help on how to get started. I have been on this yo-yo weight loss/gain pretty much the last 15 years. I lost weight before by taking diet pills, you know...the GOOD ones that make you lose weight fast...makes your heart race, your hands shake, makes you talk fast and go go go, and also makes you grouchy to those you are the closest to..those are the pills I used to take. Well, you can't get those pills anymore, and even though they seemed to work great, or so I thought, I really didn't like the way they made me feel and act. I am stuck, and don't know where to begin! I hate being this big! I wasn't even this big having my babies.....I am so ashamed of myself! I want to feel good again, to have energy to play with my kids, to have them not be embarrassed because they have a mom with the BIG butt! It hurts so much to be told that I am so pretty, but would be knock out if I could lose the weight. I hate people staring at me as I walk by. I hate that my own sisters hate being seen with me in public because I am so big. SO what do I do to begin? I know people say "it's all diet and exercise!" that there is no quick fix. I just want to do this so bad! Ok so enough whining! I just had to vent a bit, but I am here and that is the 1st step, right? If anyone is like me and can offer some advice, please let me know! Thanks for listening!

Love your self first!
It's not all about the out side - remember the inside - it is important that we love our selves - this can be hard at times I know, but it's a huge step when losing weight - find that something that makes you smile and hold it close to you - believe in your self and don't beat your self up - every day is a fresh start - learn from your mistakes and set the example - you have it with in your self to make things happen, you just have to put it out there. It's important to have a buddy system, to keep you on track - someone that believes in you and loves you - set small goals not large goals - as they can become overwhelming and unachievable (5lbs at a time) and reward your self with something each time you make that small goal - not with food, but say a manicure or what every makes you feel good - because this is all about you after all! Keep that glass/bottle of water full at all times - bring it with you from room to room from house to car, while your doing your daily walks - always have it by your side - when you empty the bottle/glass - you fill it up again, so it's always full - this will encourage you to drink more water, because as we all know drinking water is vital to weight lose!
I hope this help you - best of luck to you! and remember LOVE YOUR SELF FIRST! Cheers!

Another newbee here!
I feel like I wrote every bit of your messages above! I'm the biggest I've ever been including pregnancy weight and I've been on the Rx diet pills and stayed up til 3am cleaning. They've been known for strokes in women so my doctor will no longer prescribe them so I'm on 3 different herbal supplements. They help to reduce my appetite when I can remember to take them. I have a bad attitude about my weight and I'm sick of myself. My butt now knocks things off of my office desk when I don't even know it! The more depressed I get about it the more I hit the Blue Bell. I'm not a horrible sweet eater, I just love food in general. I know I have an addiction, I'm just too embarrassed to go to an OA meeting.

I have so much exercise crap that it's not even funny. My husband makes fun of me for buying stuff that he knows I'll never use. I'm tired all the time, stressed at work and feel guilty for making any time for myself to exercise. Seems like there's always something more important to do.

I'll start a new program and get my hopes all up then I'll get swamped at work or life gets crazy and I get sidetracked then my bubble bursts. I'm at a very low point and feel lost. Of course my husband is a normal weight and has never been big and doesn't understand what I'm going through.

I'm excited to research this site to see what all it has to offer. If anyone has a suggestion for a great starting point, I appreciate any advice!

Hang in there!
I am back on the diet wagon too...but I am determined to do it this time. I am a full time working mom with small children too. Unless you are a working mom, no one (not even the dads) can understand how difficult and stressful it is. I keep hearing if you don't put yourself first then you won't be there for your kids. Honestly, that is MUCH EASIER said then done, especially when you have worked all day, you barely get the kids fed, bathed and in bed; a sink full of dishes, the dog soiled its bed, a mile of laundry, and an almost completed report that is due to your supervisor at 10 a.m. THIS is most of our worlds. I am 39 now, and finally realized what I can't do. Now it's time for all of us to see what we CAN do. I don't care if you only squeeze in 10 sit ups in the morning and 25 jumping jacks in between the kids' baths. Every small set we do will count. That is also the same for every small bad step counts...a hanful of M&M's...force yourself to grab the apple. WE CAN ALL DO IT! WE HAVE TO MOTIVATE EACH OTHER!
