Oatmeal raisin cookies
First time I have seen a sub-way in 6 months. I knew it was a good choice. So, I ordered 6 inch vegetarian on whole wheat. I made it a meal. Only to find out they have no baked chips; so I took the 2 oatmeal raisin cookies. Thinking oatmeal is a good fiber. Went to get a diet drink only to realize they have no diet drinks in their fountain. Oh, I found a diet coke in the cooler. Asked the lady if I could have a diet coke instead of the fountain drinks. She said, Can't do. I said, I will pay extra! Oh, ok! Whenever I got to my computer to track I realized that the reason I always had baked chips was the cookies were 200 each! Ooch.

Wow
That Subway doesn't sound like the norm,
I have 3 near me and they know it's the healthy choice that brings many customers there.

Diet coke
Are you a dietetic? I would not drink diet coke if you are not. I had a Dr. tell me that. I drank over 15 years. I don't drink no more.

It's not the norm
It's in Asia. The experience was not like in the good ole' USA. 13 days until I can be back home where I can drink diet coke and have baked chips if I want.

I did my research rmatto6
I googled diet drinks and the reason I switched to diet was for my husband who can't have sugar. As of today, no diet drinks in our house. Water with lime or lemon from today on. Thanks for reminding me why I never drank diet until lately. Fresh watermelon juice with no sugar is my norm here. (Asia) Please don't tell me there's something bad about that:)

diet soda
Glad you are getting off the diet soda. I drank diet coke like crazy in my early 20s and noticed that it effected my memory, concentration and mood (negatively). Then I started looking into aspartame! Absolutely no aspartame comes into our home anymore.

Diet Soda
Is there a good website that explains the negatives of aspartame and diet soda? I use artificial sweetener quite a bit, not so much diet soda - just wondering if there is a a maximum daily intake, or if you need to stop cold-turkey.

I don't think there is any safe level of aspartame consumption. I use only stevia.
