Bad Back response
Hi Tina,

Congratulations on your weightloss!

It is very difficult for anyone to give you advice for exercises to do with a bad back because when backs go bad they do so in very individual ways.

Here is my recommendation: take an Iyengar yoga class. The instructors have extensive training in how to help with bad backs, bad knees, bad shoulders, and on and on. You will learn from them what is right for you to do for your specific issues. If there is not an Iyengar studio in your neck of the woods, the next best thing is Anusara yoga. Even a normal vinyasa yoga teacher can be of great help to you.

Take the class called something like Yoga 1 or Gentle Yoga. (You may get lucky and they may have a class called "Yoga for Bad Backs".

Then practice what you learn at home every day. This helped my back tremendously. I went from being able to barely walk from the car to the yoga studio to being able to run, do complex yoga poses, and pretty much anything else I wanted. (It does take time, though, so don't expect instant results.)

bad back
Hey Tina -

I have a bad back too and have to be pretty picky about what I do.

I belong to a gym that offers a class called Body Flow (Les Milles???) it is a combination of Tai Chi, Yoga and Pilates and I love it!!! Some of the moves are difficult for me but I've found that it gets easier with each class. The key for me was just to get the body parts moving again and since I have been working out regularly (7 months now) my flexibility and mobility have seriously improved.

Congrats on your weight loss - 60 pounds is awesome!!!

Bikram Yoga
Do Bikram Yoga - It will change your mind, body, and spirit. It is the most amazing work out.
I practice 4 times a week and it's amazing the changes that i've seen in my body. It's wonderful for people who have back pain as well.
take care

Weightlifting
In all seriousness, you have a bad back because it is weak. Yoga will only make it more flexible...something you don't need with a weak back!

My advice to you is to workout your lower back the way God intended you to--by picking things up.

If you go to a gym you can grab someone and ask them to teach you to deadlift properly. Not only is it SAFE if done properly, it will burn massive amounts of calories and increase your strength. It will strengthen your spinal erectors which will over time cure your back problems. Deadlifting is the most natural of all human movements--it's simply picking things off the ground with proper form.

If you're unable to do these or just plain scared you could try doing extensions on one of the little machines or grab a cable handle between your legs and duplicate the move. Just search "hyperextensions" and you'll find the exercise...however--don't actually hyperextend as this is bad for your back.

Just my $0.02...most people have bad backs because the muscles won't support it as they are atrophied from sitting down too much and being sedentary. Use your body as nature intended...

I need to let you know that there is only a phenomenal site https://bannerprintingphoenix.com/product-category/banner-printing/vinyl-banners/ that can print a ton of rules rapidly. I have continually utilized this help. They give me a markdown which I like. I recommend that you work just with taught specialists.
