Protein Shake
You have to fuel your body as soon as possible after a workout. I usually drink an EAS advantedge choc protein drink,followed by a well balanced meal as soon as I can. Definitely need to have carbs to provide your body with immediate fuel. Protein is important to aid in muscle soreness and muscle repar/growth. I have heard numerous times that chocolate milk is an excellent balance of protein, fat and carbs.Also drinking milk after a workout is really good for you.

I've been told, if you want it to work asap, you can drink it before your work out, that way, when your muscles are in need of repair, the protein is already there to help, plus gives you the energy to do a good work out, since it has so many calories, its an awesome snack pre work out

Protein shake
You drink a protien one hour before your workout or with in 15 min. after your workout. After workouts the body is in catabolic state. Protein helps reverse this muscle breakdown. Before a workout I like nano vapor zero wait time and its a extreme energy nitric oxide muscle performance amplifer. After my workout Muscle Milk is my favorite protein drink both is taste and performace.
