Some are now recommending even more than the target say....I am so confused.
Would having more protein tax the kidneys?

Only if you already have an existing problem. Won't hurt a healthy active person.

Add a protein smoothie as a snack, or eat about a 6oz chicken breast.

I try to get at least 100 grams of protein per day. The target for each individual will vary depending on their health profile and fitness goals. What I have researched agrees with 1144 in that a high protein diet does not negatively impact a healthy person's kidneys.

Thanks you guys....
I sub to Mark's Daily, and have seen leehayward, I somehow, always have the notion that high protein equals strain on the renals due to having to filter and flush. I take heart meds so I am wary of overdoing it on protein, so shying away has meant a deficit.
