Use of Heart Monitor
I've thinking of using my hubby's heart monitor when I exercise...not sure of the benefit though....are there any or is it just a waste of time?

Very Useful
I use a heart monitor when I run and keep my heart rate in my target zone rather than trying to run at a particular pace. This really worked for me last year when I completed a half marathon for the first time.

Yes I do also
It helps to stay in a safe zone when doing cardio for your age. For example a 18 year old can go as high as 172 beats a 40 year old 153 beats and a 60 year old 136 .

Use it.
I would say it is a good idea to use it. To burn fat you need to get your heart rate to a point where the exercise is effective and keep it there for the duration of the workout. Using the monitor would be effective in that sense.

HM?
Personally I like a pedometer.
Studies have shown wearing a perometer improves fitness.
