Definitely crunches - I detest planks - though I do them too :(

To have good abs and a good core you need a least 3 favorite abs exercises. One for your external oblique, one for your lower rectus abdominis, and one for your upper rectus abdominis. I do have a set routine for 3 days a week but saturday I change it up.
